I am running to represent the rate-payer owners in OPPD Subdivision 6, the northeast portion of Omaha and Douglas County. My experience with energy policy, dedication to the community, and work with local government agencies makes me the best candidate for the OPPD Board of Directors.
As a member of the OPPD Board of Directors, I’ll work toward:
- fair rates for everyone in our community
- public engagement with rate-payer owners, employees, and stakeholders
- new energy market opportunities
Inexpensive clean energy, smart grid hardware and software, and electric vehicles (EVs) are disruptive technology for traditional energy production and distribution models. I want to ensure OPPD is actively planning to participate in the energy market of the future, and that our locally owned utility is participating with the new business opportunities that come from these technologies. For instance, with the automobile industry investing more in electric vehicles, OPPD should be a leader in encouraging electric vehicle owners to install charging infrastructure.
I have worked on energy efficiency policy, clean energy projects, and been a community leader through a number of local organizations over the past decade. I look forward to continuing my service to our community in helping our rate-payer owned public utility prepare for the future.
